Holistic Weight Loss Coach in Austin: What It Means

Short answer: a holistic weight loss coach looks at the whole picture, not just what's on your plate. That means food, but also sleep, stress, movement, water and inflammation, because all of them change how easily your body lets go of weight. At Austin Holistic Fitness, that's built into an 8-week online program with a coach who checks in on you.

"Holistic" gets slapped on a lot of things. Some of it is great. Some of it is a supplement store with a nicer logo. So here's what it means to us, in plain words.

Why look past the food?

Because food is only one of the things telling your body to hold on.

  • Stress. When you're stressed for weeks, cortisol stays up. That pushes you toward sugary snacks and makes it harder to let go of belly fat. We wrote about a 10,000-person study on stress and weight gain if you want the research.

  • Sleep. Short sleep raises hunger hormones the next day. Most people eat more after a bad night, and it isn't a willpower thing.

  • Inflammation. In our approach, this comes first. An inflamed body tends to hold water and hold weight, so week one of our program is about calming it down with whole foods, not eating less.

  • Water. A lot of "I'm hungry" is "I'm thirsty." Even a little dehydration can make you feel tired and snacky.

If a plan only fixes the food, the other four keep pulling you back. That's the real reason so many eating plans work for a few weeks and then stop.

What a holistic coach does (and doesn't do)

Does:

  • Helps you eat more real food, not less, without counting calories.

  • Adds one new habit at a time, so you're not changing your whole life on a Monday.

  • Looks at your sleep, stress and energy along with the scale.

  • Adjusts the plan when life happens, because it will.

  • Treats you like a capable adult. You've tried a lot. That's information, not failure.

Doesn't:

  • Diagnose or treat medical conditions. We're coaches, not doctors.

  • Sell you a cabinet of supplements. No supplements needed for good results.

  • Make medication the bad guy. If you're on a GLP-1, coaching helps you eat well enough to keep your muscle and keep the results.

How our 8-Week Program works

Each week adds one layer on top of the last:

  1. Real food, and more of it. Calm the inflammation first.

  2. Then one new layer each week, like water, protein, eating out, stress and sleep.

  3. Then keeping it going after week 8, with a check-in at Week 12.

You get a short explanation of why each step works, so it makes sense instead of feeling like random rules. If you want the full breakdown, see how it works.

Coaching is online by phone or video. You can be in Austin, West Lake Hills, or anywhere else.

Who it's a good fit for

  • You've lost weight before and it came back.

  • You're tired of counting everything.

  • You feel puffy, achy or run down, not just "a few pounds up."

  • You want someone to actually check in on you.

It's probably not for you if you want to drop weight for an event next week, or if you need medical treatment. A doctor is the right first stop for that.

How to start

Jeremy Robinson has coached since 2001, and Austin Holistic Fitness has been open since 2015. We're rated 5.0 on Google.

Questions people ask

Is a holistic coach the same as a nutritionist? They overlap. Jeremy is a nutritionist and coach. The holistic part means we look at sleep, stress and lifestyle too, not just meal plans.

Do I have to give up coffee? Not forever. We take it out early on so you can see how your body feels without it. Here's why.

Can I do this if I'm on semaglutide or tirzepatide? Yes, many people do. Talk to your prescriber first, especially if you have a health condition.

Do I need to be in Austin? No. We're based in Austin, and the whole program is online.
